Rural Health Network Awards Cash Prizes to the Biggest Losers
The Greene County Rural Health Network's Healthy Weight Initiative is pleased to announce that 37 people were awarded cash prizes in the second annual Biggest Loser contest. More than 370 people entered the 12-week contest, which started January 13 and ran through April 4. The contest was open to residents of Greene County and coordinated by 30 local employers and organizations. Awards were given in two categories: total pounds lost and percentage of weight lost, and the top 3 winners in each category were given $300, $200, and $100 each.

The goal of the Healthy Weight Initiative is to promote healthy weight among Greene county residents. The initiative will help people pursue healthier lifestyles through increased opportunities for exercise, the availability of healthier food options, and support for those struggling with eating disorders.
