Using portable equipment, dental hygienists travel to grade schools and educate several hundred 3rd graders on proper dental care, screen them for dental problems and then apply sealants to their teeth to prevent tooth decay.
Parents are asked to sign a permission slip giving their child authorization to participate. If your child is in 3rd grade, contact your local school to get more information about the program. You may also ask your personal dentist to apply sealants to your child’s teeth.
