GreeneWalks Contest

Download Walking LogThe Greene County Rural Health Network invites you to participate in our new & improved GreeneWalks contest. This year’s contest is bigger and better than ever! Eight cash prizes will be awarded at the end of the contest: 4 lucky participants will receive $250 cash prizes and 4 will receive $125!

GreeneWalks is a FREE, 8-week walking program that is open to all Greene County residents. Walk anywhere, anytime you’d like, complete your walking log, then send it in to be eligible to win one of the eight cash prizes. Start with only 10 minutes a day, then 20 minutes, then 30 minutes a day to create a lifelong habit which can help prevent obesity and other chronic diseases. There are many walking and hiking trails in our area, click here, to view our maps or to find new trails to explore!

Contest begins on September 10 and runs until November 2. To enter, fill out the form below, download a walking log, and get started!

Rural Health Network Awards Cash Prizes to the Biggest Losers

The Greene County Rural Health Network’s Healthy Weight Initiative is pleased to announce that 37 people were awarded cash prizes in the second annual Biggest Loser contest. More than 370 people entered the 12-week contest, which started January 13 and ran through April 4. The contest was open to residents of Greene County and coordinated by 30 local employers and organizations. Awards were given in two categories: total pounds lost and percentage of weight lost, and the top 3 winners in each category were given $300, $200, and $100 each.
